  • Porsche stars Bastian Buus, Ricardo Feller and Thomas Preining to fight for overall victory
  • Axcil Jefferies joins lineup for No. 89 Porsche, which features special Luis West-designed livery

Lionspeed GP is heading to the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, one of the toughest and most prestigious endurance races in the world. Amongst a field of 70 GT3 cars, the team will fight to deliver Porsche’s first overall win in six years.

First held in 1924, the 24 Hours of Spa has been a GT3-only event for over a decade and is considered the jewel in the crown for SRO Motorsports Group. The races acts as both a round of GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge. It is seen as the battlefield for the best GT3 teams and drivers from all around the globe, and this year’s edition is no different as 70 cars across four categories will contest the race.

Lionspeed GP has entered a pair of Porsche 911 GT3 R Evos, with its efforts spearheaded by the No. 80 car in the Pro category. Proudly backed by Potentia, a North American-based developer of next-generation industrial and AI infrastructure, the team will seek to deliver Porsche’s first overall victory in the 24 Hours of Spa since 2020.

Driving duties in the mint-liveried Porsche, which has rapidly become a fan favorite this season, will be shared by Porsche stars Bastian Buus (DEN), Ricardo Feller (CHE) and Thomas Preining (AUT). The team has already shown its belonging at the front of the field, which included a head-turning performance at Paul Ricard and a breakthrough maiden victory in the Sprint Cup season opener at Brands Hatch.

On the other side of the garage, the team is pleased to welcome Axcil Jefferies (ZWE) as the fourth driver for the No. 89 Porsche competing in the Bronze Cup category. He joins the full season trio of Bashar Mardini (CAN), Patrick Kolb (GER) and Alex Fontana (CHE), who head to Spa after securing a hard-fought sixth place at Monza last month.

Jefferies, 32, will strengthen Lionspeed as an adept, accomplished driver with experience across a wide range of racing disciplines. His resume includes winning the LMGT3 title in the European Le Mans Series in 2024, as well as overall victories in the Dubai 24 Hours in 2021 and 2022.

To celebrate the team’s continued involvement at the very top of GT3 racing, Lionspeed GP is also excited to welcome back Berlin-based artist Luis West as it once again unveils an Art Car design for the 24 Hours of Spa. West’s trademark translucent, gradient style first appeared on a Lionspeed Porsche at Spa twelve months ago. It returns this year with an all-new, predominantly red design that is guaranteed to turn heads, supported by long-time partners Manorhaven, Abacus Global Management, Staloc and Beyond Capital Partners.

Fans will be able to catch a first glimpse of the design, as well as meet all seven Lionspeed GP drivers, at the traditional parade to the center of Spa on Wednesday. After that, official on-track action begins on Thursday. Friday’s Superpole shootout is set to be a guaranteed highlight, while the 79th running of the iconic race kicks off Saturday at 16:30.

Live streaming for the event is available for free, and in multiple languages, on the GT World YouTube channel. Closer to the action, Lionspeed GP will be hosting an exclusive VIP event, giving guests and partners the opportunity to experience the magic of the world’s biggest GT3 race up close.
