Lionspeed GP is set to return to hunting ground as the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup season reaches the closing phase. Circuit Zandvoort, where the team took its first-ever overall pole position in GT World Challenge, hosts the penultimate round of an already historic campaign.

Located not far from the Netherlands’ capital of Amsterdam, Circuit Zandvoort is famous for its close proximity to the beach, its old-school nature and its highly challenging layout. It is also where, in May last year, Lionspeed GP claimed its maiden Bronze Cup GT World Challenge victory when it won from overall pole position.

One year later, the team has fully established itself as a regular front runner and contender for overall victory in the world’s most competitive GT3 championship. With just two rounds, and four races remaining, the No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo of Bastian Buus (DEN) and Ricardo Feller (CHE) sits second in the overall drivers’ standings, just 2,5 points off the lead.

The championship prospects for the iconic mint-liveried Porsche, supported by Potentia, a North American-based developer of next-generation industrial and AI infrastructure, were boosted significantly when Buus and Feller took the overall victory during Race 2 at Magny-Cours last month.

In addition to its regular Pro pairing, Lionspeed GP is excited to add the No. 89 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo into the action at Zandvoort, whereby the team underlines its young driver development focus. An exciting Silver Cup pairing, consisting of the 20 year old Flynt Schuring (NED) who’s newly crowned Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion and series regular Nicolas Baert (BEL), will fight for class honors. They will be supported in their efforts by long-time team long-time partners Manorhaven, Abacus Global Management, Staloc and Beyond Capital Partners.

As is tradition during Sprint Cup weekends, Saturday and Sunday both feature a race of 60-minutes with a mandatory pitstop and driver change in the middle. Race 1 starts at 14:45, with Race 2 scheduled for 14:15. Both races, as well as each day’s qualifying session, will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel.
