With round two at Misano only just in the rear view mirror, Lionspeed GP will take on the next challenge in its quest for the overall GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup title at Magny-Cours – a circuit it tasted victory at upon its first visit twelve months ago.

Located some 250 kilometers from France’s capital city of Paris, the Circuit de Nevers-Magny Cours has featured on the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup calendar since 2020, only briefly dropping off the calendar in 2023.

The 4.411-kilometer circuit, home of Formula 1’s French Grand Prix from 1991 to 2008, will host the third of five rounds in the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup season. Ricardo Feller (CHE) and Bastian Buus (DEN), winners of this year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, will share driving duties at the wheel of the No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo. The team’s efforts will be supported by Potentia, a North American-based developer of next-generation industrial and AI infrastructure.

Thanks in part to their podium finish at Misano earlier this month, Feller and Buus remain firmly in contention for the Sprint Cup title. They currently sit third in the standings, 16 points behind the championship leaders. With 35 points on offer across the entire weekend, the team will have plenty of opportunities to close the gap and continue to battle for the title.

To that end, Lionspeed’s fortunes should be boosted by the fact that the Magny-Cours circuit was a happy hunting ground for the team twelve months ago. It claimed its second-ever Sprint Cup victory there as part of its highly impressive debut season in the series.

Similarly to the Misano round, the opening race on the weekend on Saturday will start in the evening and finish under the lights, starting at 21:05 CEST. Race 2 on Sunday starts at 15:30. Both races, as well as the two qualifying sessions, will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel.
