- Championship podium fight comes down to the last race of the season
- Gabriel Rindone, Patrick Kolb and Ricardo Feller with Lionspeed Porsche #80 currently 3rd in the Championship standings
- Team aiming to build on momentum from strong run of results from Nürburgring and Valencia
Lionspeed GP is aiming to finish off its successful sophomore season in GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS on a high. After a campaign in which the team captured multiple race wins and podiums, Gabriel Rindone, Patrick Kolb and Ricardo Feller aim to spray the champagne one more time at the Endurance Cup finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
After a long, grueling campaign racing at nine events in six different countries, the GTWC Europe season comes to a close with its final fixture of the year. After Lionspeed wrapped its inaugural Sprint Cup season up at Valencia, finishing P2 in the Championship, the Endurance Cup is set for one last round at Circuit Catalunya – Barcelona.
A field of no fewer than 60 cars will contest the final race of the year, with Lionspeed’s No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 R part of the packed Bronze Cup category that features 16 entrants. Regular teammates Rindone, Kolb and Feller are set for driving duties, returning as a trio for the first time since their podium finish at the Nürburgring in August.
If Rindone, Kolb and Feller finish on the podium, it could not only result in a runner-up position in the championship, but would further add to an already strong campaign for the entire Lionspeed crew in GTWC Europe this season. This already included three wins in Sprint Cup as well as an impressive performance in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa that went frustratingly unrewarded due to a late-race incident with a lapped backmarker.
All of the official on-track running for the Endurance Cup finale will take place across two days, with Free Practice and Pre-Qualifying on Saturday followed by qualifying and the race on Sunday. All four of the sessions will be streamed live on the GT World YouTube channel. Track action starts Thursday with the 3 hour paid-test.
